Some carburetors will only have one fuel pump when there is a secondary set of butterfly valves. What causes the fuel to enter the carby is a vacuum created by air moving past the boosters.
By adding a second fuel pump, more fuel will be forced into the cylinders. You will have to improvise and experiment with fitting the second fuel pump because all carburetors are different. Making them operate the second set of jets will not be easy but can be done so try to copy the setup of the original pump.
